The Google Play Store is home to over 2.6 million apps and games, making it the most populated app store in the world. The Android ecosystem also includes over 100,000 games and apps from third-party stores, such as Tencent and Oppo app stores. Google started to dedicate more time to cleaning its store of inactive and incompatible apps in 2017, which led to a purge of about one million apps.
