From the original 500 apps which Apple launched the store with, the Apple App Store now holds over 2.2 million apps and games. It is the second largest app store on the planet, behind the Google Play Store. Since 2015, Apple has started to remove apps and games from the app store which do not meet certain requirements, which has led to the total number of apps stalling since then.
